A method and system is disclosed for providing one or more personalized content streams within a gaming environment.  The one or more personalized content streams can be, but need not be limited to, real-time news, one or more podcasts and one or more videos which can be original and/or user generated.

Description  

Disclosed is a method and system for providing one or more personalized content streams within a gaming environment.  The one or more personalized content streams can be, but need not be limited to, real-time news, one or more podcasts and one or more videos which can be original and/or user generated.

The method and system utilizes one or more digital content placement opportunities present in the gaming environment for providing the one or more personalized content streams.  The one or more digital content placement opportunities can be, but need not be limited to, one or more in-game televisions (TVs), one or more in-game billboards and one or more in-game audio streams.  For example, an in-game TV in a shooter game can show one or more news videos from the same day.

Fig. 1 illustrates an embodiment of the method and system for providing one or more personalized content streams in a gaming environment.

As illustrated in Fig. 1, the method and system receives one or more content streams from one or more sources.  The one or more sources can be, but need not be limited to, one or more image and/or video hosting websites, one or more content partners and one or more podcasts from internet.  The method and system then categorizes the one or more content streams into one or more categories.  The one or more categories can be, but need not be limited to:
