Method and System for Providing Vendor Neutral Negotiable Contractual Cookies

Disclosed is a method and system for providing contractual cookies with negotiable terms between a client and a vendor that is utilized across multiple vendors.

The method and system enables a vendor to request and negotiate a contract pertaining to a cookie with an end user, in terms of data that can be collected by the cookie, an extent to which the data will be used and a duration usage of the data collected from the end user. The method and system, then, enables the end-user to grant the vendor permission to use the contractual cookie for a given time that is negotiable. Before the time expires, the vendor has the ability to renew the contract

with the end-user. At that time, the end user is provided an option to accept or reject the renewal request. Further, at the time of the negotiation, the method and system enables both the end user and the vendor to settle on a monetary compensation for granting the right. Thus, the vendor is benefitted from the end-user input by producing better and more competitive products and in turn the end user benefits from a success of the vendor.

Also, in order to provide the vendor with an in depth knowledge of the end-user, the cookie carries historical data as part of the cookie's data structure. The data structure of the cookie is a hierarchy of different domains.

The figure below illustrates a flow for request and issuance, negotiation and monitoring of a contractual cookie in accordance with an embodiment.

The request is sent to the third party authority from the end user via a purposely built web site or through an application from a mobile platform. A...
