Method and System for Preventing Accidental Closure of Application Windows

Generally, a user using a communication application presents content during a group chat on an enterprise instant messaging. During the presentation while the user navigates back and forth between web pages, browsers, and videos, the user may accidently close the application window of the group chat. If the user accidently closes the application window during the group chat, then the user may require others to re-invite the user back to the group chat application. Currently, there are no intuitive ways to prevent the accidental close operation other than imposing a confirmation prompt before every close action. Therefore, there is a need for a methodology that prevents the accidental closing of the application window.

Disclosed is a method and system for preventing accidental closure of application windows. The method and system allows users to configure application window settings such as, specifying a time frame, for holding the application windows in open state for the specified time frame, and prevent any accidental closing of the application windows during the specified time frame.

In accordance with the method and system, as illustrated in figure 1, users are provided with a configuration button such as, hold open, on user interface (UI).
