In current days we can create different types of 3D holographic images. We can also view 3D object in multi-layer transparent display, curve display etc. User always want to move more towards physical appurtenance of digital object. Once any 3D object is displayed in transparent display then displaying a shadow of the object will create more visual appeal of the content.
For example, User has created window of his house with transparent display. Now, one digital object is displayed in the window glass. So it will create more visual appeal if one shadow of the displayed object is also displayed.
Proposed is a method and system by which
1. Camera and/or other different sensors installed in the transparent display will identify the direction of light coming towards the transparent display.
2. Based on the direction of light and contextual analysis of behind the transparent display area, software will automatically create one or more virtual display area.
3. Considering the actual position of digital object in transparent display, software will calculate the position, direction and shape of the shadow of the object and will display the same in virtual plane.
4. The shadow will be created by reducing the transparency level of the area.
Following diagram (Figure 1) talks about the direction of shadow on any object. The position, direction and shape of the object is depends on direction of light and background surface. We can understand how the shadow is falling on the surface. The surface can be parallel, perpendicular and inclined to the object, accordingly shadow of the object will be created. One object can also have multiple shadow based on direction of light.
