Method and System for Enforcement of Compliance on Devices

Devices enter a specific context, leading to non-compliance of the device and its context.

The solution provides bidirectional compliance enforcement on the device and on its context. The system comprises methods for:

• Enforcing compliance requirements on a device by a network service • Enforcing compliance requirements on a network or other device when connected to another device that is already compliant
• Determining the passwords that can be attacked if one password or some characters are known to the attacker

A network (X1) and/or a device (X2) enforce compliance requirements on other devices (Y1) and/or network (Y2) that connect to X1 and/or X2. If users intend to engage in transactions or processing that are under compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, etc.), then the network enforces compliance requirements when it joins the network. The device enforces compliance requirements on the network or other devices to which it connects. It enables/disables security, privacy, and other controls needed for devices. It uses software-defined networks: enforce encryption, integrity, privacy, and other compliance rules.
