Disclosed is a method to speed up and simplify the procedure of adding new to-do items to an ambient-sensitive to-do list.

Background

An ambient-sensitive to-do list has the capability to highlight or filter out to-do items that need a specific environment in order to be worked on. For example, if querying an ambient-sensitive to-do list for a currently suitable to-do item and during the query there is a measurable background noise, the ambient-sensitive to-do list

would not return any to-do items that require silence.

Current problems of ambient-sensitive to-do lists

With an ambient-sensitive to-do list that works based on environmental conditions, each to-do can be considered as currently viable or not viable to the user, depending on the actual conditions. For this, when adding a new to-do item to a prior-art ambient-sensitive to-do list, the user needs to specify and thus in some sense to foreknow the conditions when a to-do can be completed. However, the user might not be aware of all conditions. Additionally, the input of such conditions during the creation of the to-do item takes time and may make the creation unhandy.

In detail, creating a to-do item for prior-art ambient-sensitive to-do lists requires the effort to specify the conditions that must be met in order to work on a to-do. Examples for such conditions can look like this:
"to-do requires silence",
"to-do is only possible at a specific location",
"to-do requires connection to the Internet"
"to-do requires privacy"
"to-do requires some undisturbed time interval"
"to-do requires access to a desktop with large display"
and of course a combination of two or more conditions may be required.

Specifying such conditions during creation of a to-do item makes the prior-art ambient-sensitive to-do list uncomfortable and prevents a quick creation.
