Disclosed is a system to achieve realtime zero-page reclaim for thin provisioning storage.

This system provides OS/Hypervisor independent and automatic zero-page reclaim function to a storage.

The system consists of zero write detecting function and data releasing function in controller of the storage (Fig.1.).

When storage user request to write zero-filled data, detecting function in controller detects the write and data releasing function releases the same address data immediately (Fig.2.).

When storage user request the data which is zero-reclaimed as above, the storage system returns the zero filled data without accessing any user data of the storage. (Fig.3.)
