Abstract

A simple and effective twin tube design to the vent port used in pipeline system for oil and gas production is disclosed. The twin tube configuration is implemented in the end fitting design to ensure venting in case of blockage in any of the tubes. The end fitting of the twin tube is connected by a Y-connector to the vent port. When a blockage occurs in one of the twin tubes, the other tube will continue its venting operation. Any blockage in the tube could be easily identified and removed by flushing. By implementing this tube design, venting could be ensured in all production tubes despite block in one or more tubes. This design reduces risk on being solely reliant on one tube per end fitting design.

BACKGROUND

The invention relates to twin tube design of the pipeline system in the undersea bore wells for accessing hydrocarbon resources. Currently, there are three or more tubes in each end fitting of the pipeline system. Production tube blockage is common and may occur during normal operational service. It is also a critical and time-consuming task to correctly identify the location of any blockage or obstruction in the production tube for remedial actions. Thus, blockages could result in significant losses in revenue and severe disruption to the hydrocarbon well operations. So, there is a need for a solution to ensure uninterrupted production during the occurrence of blockages in the tubes.
