I Share Value Stream B2B Ideation

Innovation comes from sharing ideas and trade. Supply Chain (SC) is all about trade; in order to develop innovations, it must start sharing ideas. A system or method is

needed that enables people that are part of a supply chain to see the big picture, end-to-end, in a dynamic way. This should allow people that work within a particular supply chain to provide more innovative ideas.

The novel contribution is the I Share Value Stream. This is a Business- to-Business (B2B) methodology that establishes Intellectual Property (IP) B2B dissemination governance and methods (e.g., management and/or peer review, export compliance, etc.) for sharing IP assets between value stream participants.

The core novelty of the I Share Value Stream is that the Materials Requirements Plans (MRPs) of different companies belonging to an SC are standalone; all users know the number. The solution makes a dynamic VSM to see the behavior of the SC Enterprise-to-Enterprise (E2E). The application enables SC users to share ideas.

The solution comprises:

• Methodology and criteria to control which IP assets the owning entity keeps internal and which it deems exportable to Value Stream participants (e.g., management and peer)

• Methodology and criteria to define and control terms and conditions (T&Cs) and boundaries of external IP asset sharing (e.g., benefit sharing), IP owning entity control (preferred embodiment) including export control and non-compete agreements, etc.

• Value Stream flow configurations and control (e.g., front-end flow based on Bill of Materials (BoM) Approved Vendor List (AVL), back-end; "riders" or other special T&Cs attached by the owning/originating participant to which any receiving agent must adhere to (e.g., cannot use to benefit competitors if owning participant, etc.)

• Value Sharing negotiation and management (e.g., vertical and/or horizontal communications paths and recommended negotiation open positions)

• Value Stream construction based on top level part number (PN) BoM and AVL (e.g., an "idea" relates to an article of manufacture which has a BoM and associated suppliers for each affected component; the Supply Chain (SC) flow between all tiers for affected parts constitutes the Value Stream Structure-...
