Method and System for Preserving Reserve Battery Power in Mobile Devices for Emergency Situations.

Battery power is always a concern with computing devices especially for mobile devices and tablets. Many a times, power runs out completely well before the end of the day, and a user could end up with no usable mobile device at the most inopportune time. Therefore, there is a need for a method and system for preserving enough reserve battery power to make an emergency call.

In accordance with the method and system disclosed here in, a battery is provided with a smart logic circuit to shut-down all power output at a predefined level before the battery power reaches 0%.

The system takes the battery shut-down logic away from the mobile device and puts it in the battery. The battery has a logic board and charge measurement gauge that cuts off the power for a set period of time when/if the power gets below a predetermined level. For example, the battery can shut-down at 10% and the mobile device would shutoff as a consequence. Once this happens, the battery remains in shutdown mode for period of time and then automatically start providing the remaining power to the device.

Thus, the system preserves enough reserve battery power for emergency situations.
