Disclosed is a method and system for identifying a trusted social network group is disclosed. The method and system continuously monitors changes made to a social network group and analyzes level of personal information and length of content shared

within the social network group to determine the level of trust within the social network

group.

The method and system identifies a text communicated in an activity stream within the social network group and mainly focuses on type of data to determine the level of trust

within the social network group. Here, the type of data determines, whether information

shared within the group is rather personal information or general information, length of the communication, the actual content such as text or image or visual script shared in the activity stream. Subsequently, the method and system evaluates whether users in the social network group tend to share personal information or not with the social network group and derives a rank for trusted networking relationship within the social network group based on frequency of exchanging the personal information. Further, the method and system evaluates whether user tends to share large amount of detailed contents within the social network group or not and derives a rank for the trusted networking relationship within the group based on frequency of exchanging the personal information. Thereafter, the method and system determines actual trusted network within the social network group by combining/aggregating the ranks assigned to the social network group.

Further, the method and system continuously monitors the change of users in the social network group. Here, the changes can be baseline trust of the social network group, such as adding a new user, removing a user from the trusted social network group, forming a new trusted social network group, closing a prior trusted social network group and injecting the prior trusted conversation elements to reinforce the trust of the new social network group.

Later, the method and system continuously monitors information shared among the social network group to verify whether there are any changes in terms of sharing the length of the content and the personal information within the group. If the length of the content and personal information shared between the users in the social network group is found to be less than the previously shared content, then the method and system determines that the trust within the group got weakened. Thus, the method and system can visually change the color of the representation of the social network group by fading out the color of the social network group or other representation as illustrated in fig. 1
