Description

Disclosed is a method and system for providing a Disc Jockey Bot (DjBot) that automatically learns and plays various types of music preferred by a crowd at social gatherings such as, but not limited to, parties.  Further, the DjBot operates in two modes namely an auto mode for replacing a traditional disc jockey and an assist mode for helping the traditional disc jockey.

The DjBot is also configured to answer various questions from people in the crowd using a chat client.  For example, the DjBot answers questions about how a party is at a location by checking scores related to the party at the location.  The DjBot also provides information such as, but not limited to, media, selfies and comments related to a party in a specific geolocation.

As illustrated in the figure, the method and system includes a DjBot server, a DjBot at a user’s device and a DjBot at a party’s host’s device.

At the DjBot server, the method and system aggregates music recommendations and the sends them to the party host.  The DjBot server also aggregates information such as posts, comments from various users at the party and sends the information to the party host.

The DjBot at a user’s device enables the user to post music recommendations and to like music recommendations posted by other users at the same party.  The DjBot also enable the user to post selfies and to like selfies posted by other users at the same party.  Further, the DjBot collects anonymous accelerometer data from the user’s device in order to compute scores for the party.

The DjBot at the party host’s device implements a chat client host that opens up a chat window for enabling the party host to receive comments from various users at the party and also to respond to the users’ comments and to post updates.  Further, the DjBot provides the party host with a dashboard that displays an aggregated view of the users’ music request...
