System and Method for a Virtual Chauffeur (VC) in an Autonomous Vehicle

Disclosed is a system and method for a virtual chauffeur (VC) in an autonomous vehicle. The VC is configurable by a user such as gender, age, voice qualities and "personality" can be selected by the user.

The system includes a virtual chauffeur (VC) system embedded in an autonomous vehicle. The virtual chauffeur (VC, includes virtual taxi driver, etc.) could be projected so that it appears from those outside the vehicle that the chauffeur is inside the vehicle. The VC could be projected inside the vehicle such that it appears to the vehicle passengers that the VC is in the driving position. The VC can be reconstructed in a substantially flat or 3-D medium, situated where the chauffeur would normally sit in a vehicle. In an embodiment, the VC could be projected on a real or simulated privacy

window. The system could project the reconstructed hologram article on a simulated "privacy window" somewhat typical in chauffeur driven limos.

Additionally, the system enables the VC to responsively interact with passengers. The system monitors auditory, gesture, and other user command communications. The system identifies the user commands and executes them including appropriate human interaction.

Similarly, the VC could responsively look at those outside the vehicle. In an instance, system monitors surroundings and identifies when external people are present.

Accordingly, the system, based on owner's d...
