Abstract

When child go to kindergarten or school, or they are absent from their parents, parents want to know: if the child is happy in the group life, and if he(or she) performs good/behaviors as a good boy(girl) .So how can this problem be solved? Targeting this, this work aims a cognative solution, which is consistented by a cognitive method and its supporting system to cognitively analyze the daily activity of kindergarten children based on multiple modern sensors and pattern recognition techniques.

A cognitive system to analyze the personality of the children

When children go to kindergarten or school, the parents will worry about if their child is happy in the group life, also want to know if he or she behaviors good in daily group life. To get the answer, traditional solution for this problem would be talking or watching: parents can talk with kindergarten teacher , or talk to the child or they can watch if the child are still happy/unhappy or still exciting/angry after the kindergarten. This way obviously is un-objective, most of the time the parent will not get an accurate and satisfied data.

Our method and system aims at solving this problem: help parents know daily emotion and behavior of their children in their daily kindergarten life. i.e., is he or she happen today? does he or she behavior good today?

We try to solve this problem in a more objective way: we propose a cognitive method and its supporting cognitive system to analyze the daily emotion and behavior of kindergarten children based on modern sensors and pattern recognition techniques. Our system is composed by 4 main parts:

In the first part of this system, there is a wearable device can carry required sensors which should be worn on wrist, sensor can monitor, detect and record the voice input. We can also employ other modern sensors like cameras, which has been equipped in many kindergartens.

The second part is pattern recognition part, to get valid data, the pattern cognitive technologies can be used to

filter, then got the data only related to the child. For example, this system is able to "determine" a smile, cry and exciting screaming. If it detects a laughing of the child, it record the laughing with the starting time and ending time , if it detects a cry, it also record it, it also be able to detect a surprising "ah-ah". This system can also monitor children's pulse, quick pulse means quick heart beat, and usually means he/she is exciting or scared. Face emotion pattern recognition and Language patterns recognition will also be used here....
