A method to show speaker's name on IP phone during a conference call

We often met the scenario that we don't know who is talking on the phone during a conference call, especially when there are a lot of unfamiliar people on the call. The method of this invention introduces a new way to show current speaker's name on the phone if needed.

This idea introduces a new way to show current speaker's name on a conference call if needed.

Following are the detail steps to implement this idea: 1) If user wants to know who is currently speaking, he/she can press one key, for example * or # on the phone.

2) A central system to detects which line(s) is currently talking by comparing volume of each line.

3) The central system then to look up speaker(s) name:
If speaker has record his name when he first join the call, his name can be transferred to text based on a speech recognition engine.

If no name recorded first, the central system can look it up from DNS(Domain Name Server).
4) The speaker(s) name will be displayed on screen of requestor's phone.

Currently, when user wants to know who is current talking on a conference call, he/she has to ask directly. This way not only interrupts current conversation, but also reduces the efficiency.
