Abstract

The crime of hijacking for ATM occurs repeatedly every year. And in most time, it will be hard for police to take in-time action since the crime happens within a short time. Most ATMs install video camera. Due to this, most criminals make hostage to withdraw money by own, and hide beside. The hostage might get injured if he doesn’t input the right password. Normal certification method cannot be sufficient at this situation. More methods/devices should be deployed to help the hostage to alarm police at the earliest time and reduce loss as much as possible.

This invention introduces a new security mechanism which will monitor customer's physiologic statistics data during cashing from ATM. When hijacking, the hostage will be experiencing the pressure of nervousness/fear. his/her physiologic data can be quite different with normal.

Based on the analysis of the physiologic statistics data, the device will make an inference that whether the customer is being hijacked. If the data shows something suspicious, the device will trigger an underneath alarm to police, when criminal and hostage has totally no awareness.

This invention can also be an input for social health monitoring database.

Following is the main modules of ATM precautious system based on physiology data:

Step 1) Before ATM payee can input password, he/she will be prompted to collect physiology statistics data(usually by put finger into the ATM physiology sensor. The sensor will collect and format those data, then deliver it to the backward cloud who is responsible for big data analysis. Step 2) The big data analysis system will query Social health DB to retrieve related history data.

Step 3) based on the big data, big data analysis system runs some algorithm to determine what is happening.

Step 4) If big data analysis system thinks something is wrong, it delivers an alarm to related bank manager.

Step 5) The bank manager may decide whether to forward this alarm to police station or not.

Step 6) The big data analysis system records what happens and archive new physiology data into social health db.

Step 7) If the system detects some health issues for personal, it may give some advice and deliver short message to the ATM customer's cell phone, eg. "drink more water"; If the system detects some social health risks(for example, influenza), it can alarm the relatedgovernment department.


2 Sub systems
(1) ATM Physiology sensor
The sensor will collect physiology data (usually by finger). The category of those data can be a wide variety, following is a candidate list:

- Heartbeat rate - Temperature - Blood pressure - Galvanic skin resistance - This is also called electro-dermal activity, and is basically a measure of the sweat on your fingertips. The finger tips are one of the most porous areas on the body and so are a good place to look for sweat. We sweat more when we are placed under stress.
