Disclosed is a method and system for unlocking medicine bottles using Smart Watch Proximity Sensor. The method and system enables a smart watch to identify authorized users and respective users' roles.

The method and system disclosed herein provides a smart watch embedded with a mechanism to unlock a medicine bottle. The smart watch identifies a user by understanding roles of the user such as but not limited to caretaker, registered nurse, nurse assistant, anesthesiologist, doctor and surgeon.

Further, the smart watch identifies the user by obtaining information from a tag attached to a medicine bottle. The tag includes specific location information, or information about specific users to unlock or roles of users to unlock the medicine bottle. Additionally, the smart watch employs biometrics to validate authenticity of the user to unlock the medicine bottle.

Once an authorized user is identified, the method and system enables the smart watch to determine exact location of the authorized user.

Further, the method and system provides a global mapping capability that allows the smart watch to obtain information about the particular GPS location using maps of a particular location for example nursing home or hospital.

Upon identifying the authorized user and location of the authorized user, the method and system detects close proximity of the smart watch of the authorized user and the medicine bottle.

By detecting proximity between the smart watch and the medicine bottle, the method and system triggers an unlock mechanism associated with the medicine bottle. Thus, the system enables unlocking of the medicine bottle by a right set of users only.

Consider a scenario, where a nurse is an authorized user to open or unlock a medicine bottle stored in an emergency room.

In accordance with the scenario, the smart watch identifies the nurse as the authorized user by obtaining information form a tag attached with the medicine bottle.
