When a patient must take more than one medication for one or a variety of ailments, contraindications among prescriptions is a danger. When a drug is part of a clinical trial, it is part of a single or multi-phase trial to validate its efficacy and side effects.

One of the drawbacks of current solutions to identify contraindications is that the lifecycle for an organization to obtain this information is quite long; if new medication becomes available during the process, interactions may not be discovered until the medication is used in the field. In addition, existing art does not sufficiently allow patients, under the supervision of healthcare professionals, to dynamically disseminate personal experiences with drug interactions. Prior art does not allow the user to do this in a trusted way, nor does any art commit the results to with a ledger with immutable qualities.

With a protracted cycle of understanding drug interactions, a trusted method is needed by

which to leverage field information of drug interactions.

The novel contribution is an efficient system and method to provide an analysis of field/patient drug interactions, provide validity checks from a healthcare professional(s) as part of a wider secure community, enable entry/checking of validated drug interaction into a common ledger, and support the dissemination and maintenance of trusted interaction data as new field data becomes available.
