A method and system is disclosed for delivering power to outlets (power sockets) and appliances in a smart and safe manner through controlled authorization.

The system begins with setting-up a database of users along with respective access profiles of the users. The database also includes body characteristics for each user. The system uses the body characteristics for recognizing a user and retrieves the corresponding access profile of the user. The system, then, delivers the power in accordance with appropriate actions based on profile of the user.

Moving on, the system also maintains a list of power sockets and appliances along with its functionalities. The system has the ability to monitor the entire power usage of a building by monitoring all power outlets and all the appliances that are plugged into the outlets. The system includes a master controller (for example, via circuit breaker or receptacle panel) which is configured to enable/disable power at sockets based on actions/controls received from authorized users. The master controller is also configured to control the appliances.

In accordance with the method and system, when a user walks into a room/area, the system identifies the user with the help of cameras and sensors. The cameras and sensors analyze facial/body/shape characteristics as well as walk/step uniqueness of the user for identifying the user. Therefore, based on recognition technologies implemented in rooms, the system can remotely determine who is in the room and based on a user profile authorize collective, send the appropriate signal to the master controller to enable or disable socket. Thus, the system can detect who is in the room or who is entering the room (adult or child) and based on profile, turn on/off power via master controller.

In an embodiment, if the system is unable to identify a user, the system does not grant any authority until a profile is established. Any unauthorized users in a controlled area may cause alerts sent to appropriate authorities.
