Abstract

Disclosed here a system of bandwidth management which helps enterprises to manage their network bandwidht for audio video conferences based on usage analytics and run-time consumptions. Bandwidth Management in any enterprise is a primary concern when the talk is there about Audio Video calls/Conferences. There are network management tools or apparatus available which does serve the feature by providing configuration based network bandwidth manager in Voice Over IP Audio Video calls based on static call policies into it. These system work fine into all the environment but there are some pain points or gaps which increases the need of a new system or method which would provide more effective bandwidth management for different class of users with more appropriate way.

Bandwidth Management in any enterprise is a primary concern when the talk is there about Audio Video calls/Conferences. There are network management tools or apparatus available which does serve the feature by providing configuration based network bandwidth manager in Voice Over IP Audio Video calls based on static call policies into it. These tool also serve the bandwidth allocation based on class of user service which is based on the user classification as VIP, Executive, Important , everyone and etc. All these configuration have to be made manually into the component configuration. Once the tool is active into environment., based on the configuration set it does allocate the network bandwidth and provide control over the bandwidth usage for class of service users.

The above mechanism or system works fine into all the environment but there are some pain

points or gaps with this as below -
1. The above mechanism does not provide any dynamic bandwidth allocation with class of users are starting the call.

2. The Bandwidth allocation happened statically and some tool act on the dynamic providing more and degrading the bandwidth allocation based on the usage done by user.

3. How to improve the bandwidth allocation for higher class of users when the resources are not available to provide them the network bandwidth as they required /requested.

Hence there is a need to have a new system or method which would provide more effective bandwidth management for different class of users with more appropriate way.

The system mentioned here will work as follows -


1. An apparatus which does the bandwidth allocation to the High class of users always by pulling bandwidth from allocated and available pool with background checks for the allocated pool to determine which user can devote his allocated bandwidth.


2. An apparatus which is more useful in the environment where the tool is configured to have different bandwidth pool for different class of users. For example if an enterprise decides to have 100 MB bandwidth allocation for Audio video call and into it 40 MB for VIP users, 30 MB for Executives, 20 for Important and 10 MB for all users. What if at given point of time executive users are not having any calls and class 4 users are having more and more calls. But as we do have specific pool for them 10 MB assigned, if more users try to join the Audio Video call , the call will be discarded whereas in total bandwidth pool we have 90 MB still available.


3. The apparatus can be extended to provide the same feature to other Voice Over IP services as telephony Voice Over IP calls, network consumption by other network service in day to day usage.


4. An apparatus which will provide colored notification into calls where Bandwidth is allocated
