Cognitive Social Media Travel Story Creation

Known solutions for creating a photograph (photo) book using a video stream comprise predetermined requirements from a template, analysis of video stream frames, extraction of frames, generation of a preview, and the production of a design book based on a storybook template. There are known solutions for creating a photo book with text from social media photos and text selected by the user.

Current methods do not perform contextual analysis of shareable and non- shareable data on a social media site and other data sources to generate a textual story with the photographs in sequence, with the addition of image object maps.

The novel contribution is a cognitive method for generating a social media travel story from shared information (e.g., photos, text, friends shared with, date/time, location meta data) and non-shareable data (e.g., mobile phone tracking data, additional photos, voice data, video clips, etc.). The method performs a contextual analysis of the shared and non-shared data to create a textual story with the photos in sequence, with the addition of image object maps.

While sharing any photograph via a social networking site, users can upload additional non-sharable data such as mobile phone tracking data, additional photos, voice data, video clips, etc. The software performs a contextual analysis of the non-shared data along with the shared data and accordingly creates a textual story for the shared information.

While sharing any photograph in social networking site, a user can tag multiple other users who have travelled with that user, and the software accordingly gathers shareable/non-sharable data (with appropriate permission) from each participating user. The system then aggregates the data from each user to create a consolidated travel story.

Along with the textual travel story or description of photos, the software adds one or more image objects, map section, etc. with the travel story or description of the photograph.

Using finger gesture, a user can expand and condense the travel story or image description. The software adds the expanded content to the travel story.
