Abstract

Disclosed is a system that automatically adjusts a slide presentation based on audience sentiment. It uses analytics to automatically create a decision point in a slide deck progression, and then implements methods that will automatically branch to additional slides, alternative slides, and alternative convergent or divergent branches.

System for Measuring an Audience 's Sentiment to a Given Slide or Presentation and Modifying the Subsequent Slides Based on that Sentiment

Delivering a presentation to a large group is a difficult art to master, and a presenter can find it difficult to focus on the details of the presentation while also watching the audience to determine whether everyone is remaining interested and engaged. For example, while speaking, the presenter may not notice if people start looking away, typing on phones or tablets, or leaving the room.

The novel system and methods contained therein monitor the audience's Internet traffic, provide live feedback to the presenter about the delivery of the presentation, and then help the presenter make adjustments to the delivery to enhance the presentation. Feedback is also given following completion of the presentation, so the presenter can adjust the future delivery of the material.

The system automatically adjusts a slide presentation based on audience sentiment. It uses analytics to automatically create a decision point in a slide deck progression. The system then implements methods that will automatically branch to additional slides, alternative slides, and alternative convergent or divergent branches. Further, the system implements a method to modify the timing and speaker notes of the associated slide deck.

The novel contribution is a system to automatically adjust a slide presentation based on audience sentiment comprising methods to:

 Use Analytics to create a decision point in a slide deck progression

 Automatically branch to additional slides of a slide deck

 Automatically branch to alternative slides of a slide deck

 Automatically branch to an alternative branch of a slide deck

 Automatically modify the timing and/or speaker notes of a slide in a slide deck

A method to use Analytics to create a decision point in a slide deck progression

This method is re-used as the basis of automatic selection throughout all other methods described below. The Analytics engine, such as a cognitive analysis engine, or data collection method, is not the topic of this disclosure. This disclosure assumes the use of those capabilities.

1. Preparation Phase 2. User creates deck 3. User creates Analytics Decision Point in the deck at a potential branch based on the output of the Analytics engine 4. User configures the parameters that decide the branch, based on the potential data collection 5. Execution Phase 6. System the data collection method 7. System feed the collected data to the analytics engine 8. System uses output of analytics engine to compare against the parameters defined for the Analytics Decision Point
