With the development of information industry, software solutions becomes more and more complex, different kinds of software areintegrated together as different components to complete a same business goal, Most of components provide their own run-time logs to help on diagnosis. User's operations also become more and more various, so it is more and more difficult for technicians to debug/troubleshoot the issues happened when these software solutions have exceptions.

An example to prove this scenario is like this:


Openstack, an IaaS solution, is used as a popular private cloud solution in industry. It has so many components like nova, neutron, ceilometer and so on. At the same time, each component have its own services. For example, nova has nova-compute, nova-scheduler, nova-conductor, nova-api and each components and each service has their own run-time logs.

When an instance is launched in dashboard with error("no valid host was found"), technicians need to look at logs of many different components to investigate the root cause(for example, there really are no hosts available; networking issue on compute node; lack of resources ...).

There are several pain points:
1. User's problem is difficult to understand because of various and complicated operations, in many cases, it's hard to reproduce.

2. Technicians need to analyze many diagnostics materials separately including user problem description, different components run-time mess logs etc.

With this invention, it could be easy for user to collect all the related log files and configuration files, record every step operations of the issue recreation, add their comments and problems just with one time-line. For the technicians, with the comprehensive data collected from user side,they can build a better understanding of the user's problem, and improve the efficiency of investigation greatly.

This invention proposes a solution for technicians to investigate the issues in complex user environment, it centralizes the distributed diagnostic material, including different components run-time logs, user operations records, user audio input etc. User can configure which type materials can be shown during investigation.
