A Method and System for Identifying Entrance and Exit of a Zone Boundary

Disclosed is a method and system for identifying entrance and exit of a zone boundary. The method and system utilizes location history of a user's device to determine the user's entrance and /or exist of the zone/geofence boundary.

First, the method and system sets up a sensing hardware and uploads a floor plan to the system for creating a zone/geofence of a specific geographic area as illustrated in Figure 1.

For instance, the Figure above illustrates a zone/geofence location created for a coffee bar to analyze user's entering the specific zone/geofence location and transmitting notifications to the respective users.

Next, the method and system retrieves incoming location data of the users from mobile devices in the specific zone/geofence location and also retrieves a location point A that is outside the specific zone/geofence location for user N as illustrated in Figure 2.

The method and system also retrieves location point B for the same user N that is inside the specific zone/geofence location as illustrated in Figure 3.

Further, the method and system creates a vector from point A to point B to determine the vector crossing over the specific zone/geofence location, which is represented as point of entrance for the specific zone/geofence location as illustrated in Figure 4.

Later, the method and system calculates the number of users ente...
