Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for continuing a mobile availability after a depletion of power. The method and system realizes that the depletion of power is imminently approaching and identifies an appropriate alternative contact delegation. The appropriate alternative contact delegation is identified based on factors, such as, but need not be limited to, direction of travel, travel companion, presence of insight and other pattern based defined methods.

Disclosed is a method and system for continuing a mobile availability after depletion of power. A method and system is disclosed for continuing mobile availability after a depletion of power. The method and system realizes that the depletion of power is imminently approaching and identifies an appropriate alternative contact delegation. The appropriate alternative contact delegation is identified based on factors, such as, but need not be limited to, direction of travel, travel companion, presence of insight and other pattern based defined methods.

The method and system tracks a mobile phone of a user using GPS and indoor micro location system when a depletion of power is approaching. If the mobile phone is powered off, then the method and system obtains a previous location history of the mobile phone. The previous location history of the mobile phone is obtained in various ways such as, but need not be limited to, capturing cell tower pings and signal transmitted by a mobile phone upon low battery.

Thereafter, the method and system uses the previous location history to authenticate another user to access the mobile device. Also, the method and system grants certain access to, but need not be limited to, friends, family members and an access group selected by the user to use the mobile device.

FIGURE 1 illustrates an exemplary scenario in which the method and system allows a user of a mobile device with empty battery to access information from a device that is in proximity.

phone's account using the device of another user. Then the method and system verifies that the device of another user is in proximity of a previously known location of the user.
