Abstract

The present invention is related to window lifter devices in cars. In particular it is related to motor driven window lifter devices which are controlled by so called door control units (DCU). Upon a operation of a certain switch by user the door control unit controls the motor of the lifter device so that the window in the door of the car is moved in the desired direction (upwards or downwards). The direction of the window movement in the car's door is given by setting as special bit or special bits in the memory of the door control unit. It is possible, that different cars can have the same door control unit mounted, but are not always equipped with the same lifter devices, i.e. the same motors, cable harness, etc. The principle of the present invention lies in the fact, that a current consumption used to lift the window is greater than the current used to move the window in downward direction. Thus, by moving the window in different directions the current consumption measurement can be considered to recognize the window movement direction. In summary, the method to detect the window movement direction can be described as follows: a) Detection of block; the window must be moved in any direction until the block is detected; b) Calculating of current consumption for one direction, c) Calculating of current consumption for opposite direction, d) Comparing current consumption for each direction, e) Determine movement direction of the window depending of the current consumption comparison and setting of the direction bit(s) in the memory of the door control unit.

The present invention is related to window lifter devices in cars. In particular it is related to motor rhythm window lifter devices which are controlled by so called door control units. Upon a operation of a certain switch by user the door control unit controls the motor of the lifter device so that the window in the door of the car is moved in the desired direction (upwards or downwards).

PRIOR ART DESCRIPTION

The direction of the window movement in the cars door is given by setting as special bit or special bits in the memory of the door control unit. It is possible, that different cars can have the same door control unit mounted, but are not always equipped with the same lifter devices, i.e. the same motors, cable harness, etc. It is further possible, that the same car is equipped with different motors on the right and on the left side. This means that in the moment of the door control unit flashing the correct actuation of the window lifter control pins should be known for each vehicle line and car side.

However this creates a lot of effort in door control unit software development, sincerely is necessary to create a different parameter sets for every car line, considering: motors, cable harness, connectors, or any other reason to have a different window actuation etc. Further from the logistic side the problem is, that even if the door control unit is the same from hardware point of view, because of minor differences in the parameters setting different product IDs are necessary to be managed by logistics.
