When a vehicle is braking, the brake lights will be turned on to notify the vehicle running behind it. But it is difficult forthe following vehicles to see the brake signal of the first vehicle because it may be covered by the body of the vehicle behind it. If the vehicle behind the first one cannot brake in time, the following vehicles will not know there is a vehicle is braking in front, and it is easy to cause pileup, see picture 1.

To solve this issue, a possible solution is to use auto-brake system. If a vehicle detects the front one is braking, it will check the distance and the relative speed of two vehicles. If dangerous, the vehicle will brake automatically. But this is an expensive system, not everyone can afford it.

This disclosure proposed a method to transfer the brake signal, which can jump the body of the behind vehicle and notify the following vehicles. This method can significant relief this issue with very low cost.

The method is: When the vehicle is braking, at the same time of turning on the brake lights, it will send an invisible, straight signal, such as an infrared ray signal, to the back. If there is a vehicle running behind it, it will receive the signal, then transferit to the back vehicles by turning on the signal light at the tail. See picture 2.

To use this method, the vehicle need a signal transmitter at the tail of the vehicle and a signal receiver at the head of the vehicle. A possible and cheap solution is to use infrared signal transmitter and receiver, just as the infrared TV remote controller.
