A method is needed to help a user who is outside of the home location (e.g., country) find a specific television (TV) program or channel to watch.

The novel contribution is a system to suggest TV stations based on a person's location and content viewing history. The system collects information and identifies trends for a user's television selections, and then based the trends and current location, intelligently suggests TV channels to user who is outside the home viewing area.

Using existing technologies, the system monitors a person's locations and viewing history. The location can be monitored with an existing location awareness cloud service. The viewing history can be monitored through various known methods (e.g., connecting to set-top boxes, using location of mobile device, online activity to see how someone is participating with a show, etc.) and saved to a profile for future access.

To help the viewer locate the desired programming in a new location:
