Unintentional clicks/taps such as going to a different web page, submitting a form, on user devices, if realized on time can be stopped in the presence of a stop button or an intermediate screen tailored for user confirmation. More often than not these unintentional clicks/taps are uninterruptable and therefore the click action reaches successful completion as it is unknown whether a click/tap was undesired or accidental.
Disclosed is a method and system that prevents unintended clicks/taps on a user interaction interfaces of a device based on a detected current gaze point of the user, by employing eye gaze tracking mechanisms.

As illustrated in the figure, the method and system includes an eye gaze tracking system, further including a gaze point temporal sequence storage database and a gaze point analyzer. The method and system also includes a click/tap detector and interceptor and a dynamic in-content pop-up injector and alert generator.
In accordance with the method and system, the method and system detects gaze points along with timestamps for a user for creating a temporally ordered sequence of gaze points in the storage database.
