Abstract

A sliding drive front cover including a) a frequency converter design, in which the sen-sitive electronics parts are fully covered and protected from dust and water, b) a fre-quency converter enclosure design that allows the front part of the enclosure, and the control panel attached to it, to be slid to the side when there is a need to access com-ponents under them. The sliding front cover leaves the control panel facing forward and able to display information during, for example, maintenance operations while giv-ing unrestricted access under the cover and the panel. The sliding of the front cover is accomplished with a lift-up mechanism similar to a mechanism used in kitchen cabi-nets and coffee tables. The motion provided by the mechanism is first slightly outwards and then to the side.

SLIDING DRIVE FRONT COVER

This invention includes:

1. Frequency converter design, in which the sensitive electronics parts are fully covered

and protected from dust and water.

2. Frequency converter enclosure design that allows the front part of the enclosure, and

the control panel attached to it, to be slid to the side when there is a need to access

components under them.

Benefits provided by the invention:

The sliding front cover leaves the control panel facing forward and able to display infor-

mation during, for example, maintenance operations while giving unrestricted access

under the cover and the panel.

The front cover and the control panel don't have to be detached from the rest of the
