Method for Identification of and Communication to All Parties Affected by an Emergency

Disclosed is a system and method for identification of and communication to all parties affected by an emergency. The method considers international (multi-lingual, multi-channel) interested parties that are not in the emergency area. A system holds

the contact information, pre-populated by expected contact severity based information.

When an emergency occurs, it is difficult to determine who to contact about the emergency. In addition to the person involved in the emergency that needs to be contacted, it is possible that interested parties (friends, relatives) would also like to

know that their loved one is safe and sound. The interested parties that are not in the emergency area would not normally get notified. The disclosed method supports notification of interested parties affected by an emergency outside of the vicinity of the emergency.

The system is updated to include people who want to provide notification and those that

want to be notified. The system includes the method(s) of communication in order of preference, as well as the event(s) to send notifications. The system may be augmented to include external data sources to identify candidates for notification (friends and family) as well as methods of communications (email, text, social media page).

There are four parts to the disclosed system:

EVENT - The action that triggered the need for notification.

1.

NOTIFY - The list of people to contact about the particular emergency - this could

2.

be by human subscription or by an proactive creation of the list.

PUSH - The list of people that want to be notified ("Hey there's an emergency, I've

3.

been called in, I am fine, will keep you informed.").

PULL - The list of interested parties who would like to be told ("Let me know when

         4.
anything could be happening that affects Fred.") - this could be tied to an individual or indeed to a class of emergency.

The following are example method steps for an embodiment of the disclosed system and method:

Potential people in an emergency identify themselves as wanting to have
