Method and Apparatus for a Secure Autonomous Armored Vehicle

Currently cash and other banking security instruments are transported by human driven cars, making the vehicles subject to interception and attack. Many of these cars have bulletproof glass; however, the security is still much weaker than the iron-clad shield around the rest of the car. These cars also risk the life and security of the human drivers.

The novel solution is a completely shielded driverless armored car for transporting money and other sensitive documents.

Embodiment 1

A driverless armored car is used for transporting money and other sensitive documents that transport money to authenticated automated teller machines (ATMs) or other similar receptacles. The cars are made of a completely shielded cab in iron or any other impermeable or unbreakable material and have no externally accessible weak points. The cabs ride on a chassis that is automatically driven. The cars have a docking mechanism that securely docks at an ATM after a security protocol handshake.

After docking, a secured box can be exchanged between the car and the ATM or similar secured receiving ports.

Embodiment 2

In variations of Embodiment 1, a central surveillance system monitors the cars and plans routes based on the safest route to the destination, avoiding crime- and conflict-prone zones.

Embodiment 3

In variations of Embodiment 1, the docking mechanism and the handshake protocol comprises the following steps:

1. Ensure that the ATM and/or receiving port is safe, secure, and ready to receive the money or secured materials and the request for permission to approach 2. Once permission is granted, create a secure physical vestibule to transfer...
