Abstract

A method and system is disclosed to enable multi-player games to select players having similar stop times enforced by counter-incentives applied to each individual player. The method enables the selection of players in multiple player scenarios as well as scenarios wherein one on one players are playing, by allowing players to see which players have counter-incentives applied and when it will be applied.

The erstwhile multi-player gaming system provides an interface which reduces a player’s effectiveness in the game due to lack of awareness of reduced abilities and lower incentives of another player whom the former player might want to team up with. The reduced abilities and counter-incentives are incorporated to make the game harder to play.

There exists a need for a method and system by virtue of which a group leader of a multi-player game is notified ahead of time regarding counter-incentives applied to one of the players. On being notified, the group leader may ask the player to leave the game, in order to prevent hurting of the game or select players for a defined period of time without counter-incentives applied to their accounts, thereby respecting the counter-incentives and ensuring an enjoyable game played by matching players.

Disclosed is a method and system that enables multi-player games to select players having similar time limits enforced by counter-incentives applied to each individual player. The method enables the selection of players in multiple player scenarios as well as scenarios wherein one on one players are playing, by allowing players to see which players have counter-incentives applied and when it will be applied.

In accordance with the method and system, in a multi-player session, each player’s id is queried to check if counter-incentives are enabled. On identifying players for whom counter-incentives are identified, the method and system queries players that are being currently affected by the counter-incentive. The method and system, further, queries time duration left for players whose counter-incentives are enabled but not activated. After querying, the method and system allows the players to view the queried information and sets appropriate warnings at pre-determined thresholds.
