To purchase gas at a self-service pump at a gas station, the user must first authenticate payment with a credit card swipe/read at the payment console, and then remove the handle to pump the gas. This is sometimes inconvenient and slows the process of purchasing gas.

The novel solution is a method and system for pre-authorizing payment for gas at a gas station based on the car and the driver that park next to the gas console.

To implement this solution for auto-payment at gas stations: 1. Driver steps into car and the car already has some billing information and

payment authorization (e.g., electronic payment app, credit card, etc.) loaded onto it
