Abstract

The project of Refurbishment of Fuji 11kV Panels was requested by Hong Kong China Light & Power Co.,Ltd (CLP). The project was expected to extend the service life of existing Fuji panels and improve the internal arc fault capability to 20kA 1 sec. The replacement of circuit breaker door is a must. The original Fuji panel was not designed to withstand the internal arc fault, first internal arc fault test failed in XIHARI. Analysis: The defect of the Fuji panel (the lock of the CB door is too weak, the width of the panel is narrow than the Unigear-ZS1 panel). The normal CB door cannot withstand the high pressure caused by the internal arc. The new type of arc proof CB door change the normal locking system. The worm wheel system is applied to drive the locking bar to lock the CB door all around the panel frame. The U shape sealing plate and sealing rubber is applied to prevent the leakage of internal arc and high temperature pressure . The interlocking system is also applied on the CB door to prevent the wrong operation to protect the operator

The CB door was pushed out by the high pressure caused by the internal arc. The circuit breaker was pushed out of the panel.

2) Analysis: The defect of the Fuji panel (the lock of the CB door is too weak, the width of the panel is narrow than the Unigear-ZS1 panel). The normal CB door cannot withstand the high pressure caused by the internal arc.
