Abstract

This publication pertains to a method of manufacturing a terminal that has a low cost terminal lug cover positioning mechanism. The compression terminal and the terminal lug cover positioning part are produced as separate parts. Next, the compression terminal lug and the terminal lug cover positioning part are joined with a silver brazing, e.g., to form the terminal lug with the terminal lug cover positioning mechanism.

Production Method of Terminal Lug with Lug Cover Stopper Part

This publication pertains to a method of manufacturing a terminal that has a low cost terminal lug cover

positioning mechanism. The compression terminal and the terminal lug cover positioning part are

produced as separate parts. Next, the compression terminal lug and the terminal lug cover positioning

part are joined with a silver brazing, e.g., to form the terminal lug with the terminal lug cover positioning

mechanism.

The following effects are achieved by such a construction:

- The compression terminal lug part can have a conventional shape at a low cost.

- The terminal lug cover positioning part can use conventional brass because it need not consider

electric conductivity.

The terminal of Fig. 1 consists of two parts. One is a conventional terminal lug made by copper press fit.

Another is a brass terminal lug cover fixing part made by brass machining. The parts are connected by a

silver brazing to provide heat resistance and mechanical strength.

The terminal unit cost can be decreased by adopting such a construction.

termination shed, and item 3 is the termination clamp.

The flange portion of the terminal lug fits into the inside projection parts of the terminal lug cover. As a
