System and method for analyzing the network dataflow by formatting RFC template

With the development of network technology, more and more RFC are defined and the RFC is also more and more complex. This increases the difficulty for the developers to write internet programs. More and more effort is needed for analyzing the existing system network environment and finding the bugs.

Our invention is to format the RFC protocol by XML and save the result as the RFC templates. After getting the network data, we can compare the data with the RFC templates. According to XML rules, summarize the RFC to XML structure. For the MUST process, we add a REQUIRE field and set it to TRUE; for the OPTIONAL process, we set REQUIRE to FALSE; then when we do the comparison, if we do not find one field and its REQUIRE is TRUE, we can report an error.

Our output will be a report including: the error or the suggestion if there is mismatching between data and RFC or data flow chart if no mismatching found.

The invent major claim points includes: 1. Using the XML to convert the RFC description to flow template; 2. Compare the network data with the templates to generate analyzing report to show whether the client/server follows the RFC, improving suggestion and network structure chart.

The flow chart is as following:
