Application Modeler for Workload Scheduler

Job scheduler automation tools require that changes to the database be performed via online screens or by writing a batch program. Some existing tools allow a developer to unload data from the scheduler and load it into relational tables; however, a method is needed to load from the tables back into the job scheduler.

The novel system unloads application definitions from the live scheduler database and stores the same in relational tables, from where the developer can manipulate and load the application definitions back into the scheduler.

The novel system requires only standard utilities:  Job scheduler, to export the application data to a file  Sort, to parse the exported data and format it into table load format  Relational database manager, to load the formatted data into tables  Query language, to modify the data in the tables, or a spreadsheet manipulator to

modify the data before loading it into tables  Database unload, for unloading the data from the tables to a file  Sort utility, to parse the unloaded data and format it into job scheduler load

Loading the application definitions into tables makes the processes for modelling and manipulating the application layout easier for a developer. The developer can also modify an existing application to create a new one.
