A method to determine audience of information to share automatically

Disclosed is a method for determining riskiness and inappropriateness of opening to the public of information to be posted by a poster automatically. They are determined from characteristics of the information, relating personal information already opened to the public and a history of posts put by the poster in the past. Recommended audience is proposed to the poster, thereby relieving the burden on the poster.

Process steps according to the present invention are shown below.

1. Personal information and location information are extracted from the contents of a post transmitted by a poster.

2. A risk with the contents of the post is determined with respect to an audience defined according to a policy or an audience explicitly designated by the poster. [Examples of cases where there is a possibility of high risk]

Information (a name, a telephone number, a face, or the like) about an important individual (e.g., the poster or the poster's family) is about to be opened to persons other than friends (friend's friends), friends to whom the poster has not permit opening of the information, or friends to whom no information has ever been opened. An image taken in the vicinity of an important location (e.g., the poster's home, parent's home or place of employment) and including location information is about to be opened to persons other than friends (friend's friends), friends to whom the poster has not permit opening of the information, or friends to whom no information has ever been opened. A name is included in a post, or an image included in a post is about to be opened to poster's friends in a situation where a third person who is not a poster's friend but a friend of a poster's friend can be identified from the image included in the post and a face photograph publicly opened (there is a possibility of this opening being inappropriate).
