Abstract

Disclosed is a solution that provides individual mobile and/or desktop users manual and automated cognitive methodologies and associated application mechanisms to filter and re-structure blog contents to display only the subset of interest, in priority order of preference or even random order, as the end user specifies. This approach provides the end user the dynamic manual and automated cognitive capabilities to provide optimal blog navigation, through maximizing the display and prioritization of blog contents of interest using as minimal effort as possible.

Cognitive Methodology and Mechanism/Application to Filter, Prioritize, and Re-structure/Display Blog Content Based on Flexible End User Specifications

With the practically unlimited proliferation and content of blogs, not only is a cognitive methodology needed to determine, score, and rank the contents of blogs, but also to display only the blog contents of interest (whether from the same or different blogs) to the end user and incorporate a priority order in which to display these blog contents. A method is needed to re-structure the contents of the blog for display based upon dynamic end user preferences. Such a methodology for setting user-customized criteria for displaying and prioritizing blog content must be flexible and require minimal end user effort.

The novel contribution is a solution that provides individual mobile and/or desktop users manual and automated cognitive methodologies and associated application mechanisms to filter and re-structure blog contents to display only the subset of interest, in priority order of preference or even random order, as the end user specifies. The fundamental idea is to provide the end user the dynamic manual and automated cognitive capabilities to provide optimal blog navigation, through maximizing the display and prioritization of blog contents of interest using as minimal effort as possible.

The solution uses a scoring/ranking technology fed by the end user's preferences and specifications. The individual end user’s blog content evaluation specifications are flexible, allowing the user to make changes in real time, store a history of preferences, and dynamically change the display criteria; therefore, the end user does not have to commit to only one or be limited to only a few options for blog content display.

Blog contents of interest refers to the types of content the user indicates for viewing prioritizing, displaying, and viewing. Using cognitive computing/machine learning, the novel system and methods fundamentally transform the standard blog navigation and display experience to a dynamic and highly intelligent experience, providing a deeply personalized service to the blog end user.

The system uses enabling art for a cognitive methodology and mechanism/application to score and rank blog content based on flexible end user specifications and/or cognitive machine learning/predictive analysis of what the end user manually specifies over time on the associated re-structured blog content displays.

The end user can either choose a blog content filtering profile to apply or allow the cognitive machine-learning component of the application to automatically apply blog content filtering.
