Methods implemented to systemize the contents of an email while in 'edit' mode or 'read' mode.

While receiving mails, many times it happens that the email contains - long mail chain or multiple attachments or multiple links in the mail. We often feel the necessity of sorting/rearranging this kind of email so as to read the contents in more organized manner. e.g. If the received mail is a forwarded mail with long email chain, we should be able to reverse the order of mail chain from top to bottom.

Benefits: 1)Sorting the mail thread inside email by date/relevance/sender Currently, discussion thread or email threads can be sorted based on topic, sender, date and time. We want to use similar techniques but inside a forwarded /replied mail i.e. when mail document is in edit mode or read mode. If a person is added to the long mail chain, User may need to go through the complete email chain. Currently we see that as a thread inside email with recent replies at the top. But it would be better if the person can see the entire mail chain in reverse order or with relevant messages at the top. We propose the idea to sort the mail thread inside email by date/relevance/sender.

2)Managing links inside an email by relevance If there are multiple links in the mail, we should be able to sort those by relevance. e.g. While doing searches for patents we find many links and we forward it randomly. Instead we should be able to sort by relevance.

3)Arranging attachments inside email by relevance/type If there are multiple files attached to the mail, we should be able to sort by type/relevance. e.g. Most of the times we may send files as zip, but at times people may add attachments randomly. We should be able to sort those by type.

Use cases: 1)Sorting the thread in reverse order / sorting based on relevance : Consider a case where a new developer is added to the project. User is assigned a task which is already started and there are multiple people involved. The team lead sends User email with previous mail communication. The developer needs to go though complete email chain to understand the requirement and actual status of the task. Currently, the mail chain/thread inside the email has most recent messages on the top. This may not be useful for the person who is going through the contents for the first time. User may want to go through the mail in reverse order i.e starting from the first mail in the email chain, But this facility is not available. We propose solution to this problem. With our idea, the person will be able to sort the mail chain inside email in reverse order.

Similarly we should be able to sort the email chain inside received email by relevance/sender. e.g. There is ongoing PMR and a long mail chain is going on which involves L2, L3 , manager, architect, AVL etc. Manager receives the latest mail with long thread inside and User just needs to know the work done so far the L3. User should be able to sort by sender so that User g...
