Abstract

The braking system is the critical components of car. The braking system on most people's cars goes unnoticed since it is "out of sight, out of mind." As the car brake system is very complex, the car brake problems’ root causes are very different and difficult to diagnosis. Car brake diagnosis Process include the following steps generally: Inspect the visible components of your car's brake system. · Check your brake fluid · Replace your car's brake pads. · Ask a mechanic to test your brake power boost unit · Check your car's vacuum system for leaks · Bleed the brake fluid from your car and replace it with fresh fluid · Examine your brake lines and replace any damaged or broken lines · Install a new master cylinder · Inspect your car's brake discs We can find the process is very complex and our method want to simply the diagnosis process and discover the root cause quickly. The present invention discloses a novel approach: Learn the brake effect from normal car brake cases based on the classified data Calculate the equivalent between brake pedal pressure and vehicle speed Analysis the root cause based on equivalent brake pedal pressure and vehicle speed Recommend driver the braking issue and  the suspected cause

The core idea of proposed approach includes 4 major steps: 1. Learn the brake effect from normal car brake cases based on the classified data

The method monitors the car brake performance based on vehicle velocity with time and pedal pressure with time. As we know, the car brake performance is related

to weather, road condition and so on, so the method clusters the vehicle velocity and pedal pressure data according to these conditions. And the method will discover

the normal pattern of car brake effect from the clustering historical monitor data.

2. Calculate the equivalent between brake pedal pressure and vehicle speed

The vehicle’s accelerated velocity can be calculated from the vehicle speed. And the method can draw a curve between brake pedal pressure and vehicle’s

accelerated velocity according to the historical data of the previous step. Based the curve, the method can calculate the equivalent between brake pedal pressure and

vehicle speed.

3. Analysis the root cause based on equivalent brake pedal pressure and vehicle speed

According the equivalent from the previous step, the method can analysis the root cause of vehicle’s brake system at runtime. The method monitor the brake pedal

pressure and vehicle speed and discover whether the runtime data fit the equivalent – normal pattern. And the method also can discover the abnormal pattern is related

to the transmission device or the braking device of vehicle’s bra...
