Abstract

A smart system & method to automatically set the suitable settings mode for an event on mobile phone device based on booking details of the event captured by SMS & saved in memory. Retreiving this information on the date of the event & using GPS system during the event's time to check user availability at the event's location & then set the settings mode automatically.

Nowadays, tickets of any events like movie, play, training, conference, lecture, a visit to exhibition, party so on is available online for booking. After booking these tickets, the user will get a SMS containing details of the event's date, start time & end time, location details. The user will show this SMS & will enter the event.

The problems we face with the existing solutions are described using following usecase scenarios.

Usecase1:

While watching an interesting movie/play at a theatre, if the mobile phone of a person rings loudly then it may disturb the other viewers because of the loud ringing sound it makes & because of this, the other viewers may miss some of the dialogues of the movie. Most of the users will ignore/forget the sign board/message at theatres to switch off the mobile phones during the period of movie/play. If some 4-5 mobile phone rings during the movie/play, it will considerably disturb the other users.

So there is a need of a solution which automatically sets the user's mobile phone to vibrating/silent mode for the period of the event based on the booking event's SMS on the user's mobile phone. This article proposes a new solution for this problem.

Usecase 2:

While travelling in a flight, it is required for the flight travellers to set their mobile phones to flight mode or to switch off otherwise the radio signal transmitted by these mobile phones may affect the radio transmission of flight system. Generally, the air hostess on the flight would announce & then will come to each person to check whether each & every person has set his/her mobile phones to flight mode or switched it off or not. So, this manual effort is waste & there is no automated way to ensure this safety.

This article proposes a new solution for this problem by automatically setting the travellers phone to flight mode based on the flight ticket SMS on their mobile phones.

Usecase 3:

While in some temple/prayer places or at some exhibitions like sensitive defense

exhibition, it is prohibited to use the camera on the mobile phone to photograph the place. This is apart from the prohibition of use of the mobile phone at these places. Generally, these places will have a counter to collect visitor's mobile phones at entrance & it will be returned to user when they leave these places. In other cases, these places will have security personnel's who will be stopping the visitors from taking the photography of the place.

This article proposes a new solution for this problem by automatically disabling the camera on the mobile phone based on the booked SMS ticket information for these places.
