Disclosed is a method and system for correlating audio and video communication to prevent an attack for altering the communication. The method and system compares the video to receive an expected audio for maintaining consistency in audio and video communication.

The method and system compares a consistency in audio and video communication and maintains a correlation of images and audio in a database to prevent man in the middle attack.

Accordingly, the method and system monitors an audio video call by collecting audio and video feed and interrogates the database for generating a likely result caused by triggering a video and vice versa.

Further, the method and system derives risk profile of an altered real-time stream using risk analysis by comparing the images and audio in the database and the distance between the sound producing objects and camera.

Consider an exemplary scenario, wherein a user A initiates an audio video conference with a user B. Another User C who is able to hijack a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) signal or a cordless phone which is being used by user A and user B, may block the audio and substitute own audio. Now, as users access the video, the method and system constantly compares actions in the images/video to the associated audio database with a statistical correlation likelihood. The method and system ascertains an action/behavior in a video to check the expected sounds associated with the actions and compare the expected time in the video. Accordingly, the system identifies if audio/video is being tempered with risk in processing and analyzing the audio/video, then, the method and system transmits a notification to relevant user/entities through appropriate channels which may include, but need not be limited to, phone/Short Message Service (SMS) for calls with sensitive topics where the risk is identified.
