The method enables a dynamic drone marketplace to effectively divide requested jobs among an available drone population, based on economies of scale and capabilities of the available drone population.

Method and System for an Improved and Efficient Cloud -Based Drone Marketplace

The erstwhile drone services and drone type marketplaces are static in nature, and are often rented for specific purposes and periods, thereby including a significant amount of latent opportunity. Typically, on requesting a drone service, the drone or group of drones are sourced from a supplier and is dedicated to the requestor for the entire stipulated period until the completion of the service.

There exists a need for a method and system by virtue of which latent opportunities provided by drone services can be harnessed, thereby making effective utilization of the dynamic nature of the drone in terms of types, equipment and capabilities and rendering an improved dynamic drone marketplace.

Disclosed is a method and system that renders an improved cloud based dynamic drone marketplace, akin to the uber style of operations as illustrated in the following diagram.

In accordance with the method and system, on receiving a request for a drone from a drone requestor for completing a job/service, by the drone marketplace, the drone marketplace reviews the job/service. The reviewing of the requested job/service includes evaluating the job/service for disaggregation, wherein the disaggregation is based on the available drones in the drone marketplace, the equipment carried by each

drone, ranges of each drone and likewise environmental factors. For example, disaggregation of jobs/service by the system may include but is not limited to farming out a job/service of video and still photography of physical locations from various angles, altitudes, and perspectives to multiple drones. After disaggregation, various parts of the job/service is assigned to appropriate drones among the available drones/owners in the market place, following which aggregated results of the assignment is presented to the drone requestor.

In another implementation, jobs/services to be completed while an available drone is en route can be submitted, wherein the drone marketplace evaluates the available drones in the air to complete the requested jobs/service may be based on but is not limited to the equipment carried by the drone, parameters of the original request (time to complete) and ranges. For example, a drone while delivering a package receives a request for photography of a job site. To execute the method more economically, execution of a job/service can be conducted serially, wherein one drone starts the job/service and passes the job/service on to a second drone. For example, a package delivery that exceeds the range of a single drone will pass it on to another drone that has the required equipment.
