Maintaining a healthy and nutritionally balanced diet while accurately tracking daily intake and understanding individual nutritional needs is a difficult task for anyone. People have to know the daily caloric requirements, depending on whether a person wants to gain weight or lose weight, whether to eat more or fewer calories.

The novel contribution is a tool and associated method that take basic input factors (e.g., height, weight, age, body measurements, etc.) and then indicates to the user the daily nutritional needs in order to meet weight goals.

A user sets up a Body Health Profile and then uses tools such as image/visual analytics or voice-to-text recognition to enter food consumed during the course of the day. The novel method calculates all known nutritional facts about the food. The tool tracks food statistics on consumed foods. Depending on the user’s goals, the tool then suggests the best foods for the user to eat for the duration of the day based on nutrition and caloric analytics.

A user can input some basic data such as height, weight, age, sex, and dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten free, vegan, dairy free, etc.) and indicate goals for weight gain or weight loss. The tool can be used on a per-meal basis to keep track of what the user ate. This tracking can be input by voice-to-text. The tool can further analyze and gather data about the nutritional facts of the food. As another input option, the user can take a picture of the food and the tool can use visual recognition to derive nutritional values from the food.
