Abstract

The development describes the effect of improving low temperature (e.g., -30℃) bag drop performance and film downgauging by applying ExxonMobil mPE into film formulations. The conclusion was supported with different PE grades, various ratios of blending partners, and different film thicknesses. The study offers the ability to design mono layer ice bags and freezer film applications that require low temperature bag drop performance.

Background ‐ Metallocene polyethylene film applications such as ice bag or freezer film which will be used to store

food in refrigerators or similar environments require low temperature bag drop performance (around - 30 ). It is deemed as an important property by customers since it can assure the integrity of the packaging during transportation and storage.
