BACKGROUND:

In early 2015, an attempt to find a common denominator which could provide assurance to digital

transformations was being worked upon. The fundamental notion that business processes stay

relevant irrespective of the type of digital transformation (Though they may have flow and

format changes) shall become the building block of the assurance solution. There are two key

success factors - 1. Ability to capture the AS-IS business processes and 2. Flexibility to quickly

adapt the TO-BE business processes. With those in mind, the innovation of this platform which

could discover the customer’s business processes, perform analytics and recommend optimized

approach to validation of new products or features. . Generating a Business process model using

XML was already known in the market. However, it was discovered that these methods do not

create parallel business process flows, don’t generate manual test cases and nor do they do any

Application analytics based heat map, risk based testing and business process analytics.

Moreover, options for enrichment, ability to integrate application analytics data, etc. were very

limited. Hence the need for the present solution is which elaborated in the paper.

OVERVIEW OF THE SYSTEM:

The paper proposes a new approach for enabling Business Process Assurance and automation for

Enterprise Applications. Cognizant Business Process Assurance Platform has three different

layers – Business, App, and Analytics . The business layer accelerates the discovery of business

processes; reduces time, effort and dependency of business analyst during the project. It

automatically generates a level 4 business process model and ready-to-use manual test cases

aligned with industry standards including FDA regulatory requirements The Business Process

Assurance Platform helps in generating test scripts for quicker automation testing. The

benchmarking module identifies gaps in a business process, by comparing its current

performance to the industry best practices, thereby allowing enterprises to gain an edge over the

competition. Enterprises can apply this business process across multiple countries without the

need of imparting any knowledge transfers amongst their teams. The business layer reduces the

overall testing efforts by 40% .The App layer of the CBPA platform extracts any kind of

information from a SAP...
