Abstract

This disclosure is directed on manufacturing a frame made of injection molded plastic material like PE or PA. A strip of nonwoven or fleece material is positioned in a injection moulding tool. A frame is moulded such that a permanent connection between plastic material and the strip is created. The strip has an overhang section that projects from the frame, preferably radially to the outside, to create a closed ring sealing strip that can be clamped and or bent between two housing or air guiding parts. Further sealing action may be provided by a second part of the fleece that is positioned between two ribs that create a closed ring groove that is open in axial sealing direction. A rib corresponding to this groove may be positioned on a housing part, project into the groove and sealingly compress the fleece located in the groove. This concept uses fleece which is overmolded with plastic but it will have both radial & axial sealing. This dual sealing will improve the sealing effect of the element.
