Abstract

A method and system is disclosed to enable identification of stress level indicators of human drivers while driving a vehicle to provide stress relieving recommendations, through a customized cognitive approach. The method and system also involves self- learning, data mining and pattern recognition for evolving interactions between the human driver and the system.

Description

Highly populated cities witness numerous stress causing situations for vehicle drivers, making driving a highly uncomfortable experience. There exists a need for a cognitive system to reduce stress levels for drivers while driving.

Disclosed is a method and system that enables identification of stress level indicators of human drivers while driving a vehicle to provide recommendations, through a customized cognitive approach. The method and system also involves self-learning, data mining and pattern recognition for evolving interactions between the human driver and the system.

In accordance with the method and system, the system determines the stress levels of the human driver upon entry and ignition start of the vehicle. The determination of stress level indicators involves acquiring bio-metric data of the driver via wearable devices, wherein the wearable devices may be, but are not limited to, a smart watch and smart wearable clothing. The biometric data may include information regarding blood pressure, heart rates, brain activity and other sensory functions. Audio and video sensors within the vehicle also enable determination of stress levels of the driver. The audio and video sensors may be utilized to establish a stress level starting point.

The method and system continuously identifies and records stress levels of the indicator, while the driver is in the vehicle, at pre-defined intervals. All the recorded stress levels are logged in a memory of the system, for facilitating collection of data over a required period of time.
